Technology and nature are not opposites, but partners.
My creative process explores the intersection of technology and design forms that honour the innate spirit of wood. The result is art that feels both futuristic and timeless, complex and beautifully simple.

Dimensions
1.8m high on a 1m square macrocarpa base
This piece has been crafted from a Tarairi log I sourced on a cliff edge of our farm, south of Kaikohe. Its extraction required a team of 4 people and I used up much social license in doing so.
The form is defined by deep, natural crevices carved by fungi, which attacked the sapwood while the heartwood decayed. Revealing this required hours of careful sandblasting before the sculpting could even begin.
A truly striking statement, ideal for an entrance.
Stands 1.8m high on a 1m square macrocarpa base, comprised of two sections. Requires 3 people to assemble.
