This is from a Banksia tree stump at our local Rangitikei Golf Club. It is situated in a prominent position on the course and I wanted to create something from nothing as a gift to the club.
It’s half a golf ball and I wanted it to replicate what they look like when mowed over by a lawnmower.
It was a lot of fun doing this out in public. I had so many visitors while I was working on it, with some hilarious conversations. One in particular from a person asking ‘What is it’? I couldn't help myself - ‘a spider’... They shuffled on totally confused.
